Projected Weekly Plan

Projected Weekly Plan

Week of February 26-March2, 2018

Math: This week we are looking at dividing whole numbers by fractions. I am teaching them the method of Keep, Change, Flip, or KCF, for short. This is just a shortcut, so your student doesn’t have as many rules to remember when doing this type of problem.

For example, if you have the problem 5 ÷ ½= Your student is being taught to keep the first number, change the sign to its opposite sign, and flip the fraction to its reciprocal, then solve. So they should end up with 5 x 2/1 = as their equation.

*If you have any questions, please feel free to write me a note, or call.

Science: This week we are finishing up our unit on weathering and erosion. We will finish up our lab activities with the impact of ice on landforms. Then we will talk about the causes of weathering, erosion and deposition are wind, water, waves, and ice. We will have a vocabulary test on Monday, March 5, 2018.

* Each week we will begin a new concept during math class, and your student will be tested on this concept each Friday. If your student is having any problems, please let me know so I can help them before Thursday of each week.
