Dear Prek Parents,

As you all know, this is a very new thing for everyone. Homeschooling has not been your choice, but a requirement. We must take this opportunity to make the best decisions for our kids that we can as we go through this trying time. With that being said, you are not alone! I am still the Prek teacher, and I am here for you if you need anything!

I have worked the past few days to put together a packet of important skills that I feel are very crucial in order to prepare your child for Kindergarten. If we can work together and continue to make progress for these next few weeks, each and every one of them will be more than ready:)

Learning resources:

For online instruction, please visit the website below. Your child’s username and password will be sent to you in ClassDojo, and also included in your child’s packet if you requested a hard copy. If they are doing hard copy work, they are not required to do IXL, unless you would like for them to do it in addition to their packet work. The IXL app can be downloaded on an iphone, Android, tablets, kindle, etc. and is a comprehensive learning program.

Packet- this includes a packet of material that we use in prek on a daily basis. It contains worksheets, journal, workbook, sight word list, EOY assessment, and supplies. Please allow your child to work on this at their own pace. This is plenty for them to do over the next few weeks. (PLEASE PICK UP THE PACKET TOMORROW FROM 7:30AM-6:00PM IN FRONT OF THE NEW ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ON HWY 67.)

IXL- http://www.ixl.com/signin/simms

This is a personalized learning resource that will be very beneficial to use with your child. You can access this through the Simms ISD web page/app or use the direct link to the sign-in page above. I have stared some suggested skills for your child to work on. I will be adding more suggested skills over the next few weeks. Feel free to explore other skills as you feel appropriate.

CLASS DOJO- this is the best form of communication for us. I will be sharing things on here for the parents and the students. Message me there with any questions!
